New Delhi, Nov 20: The attack at Amritsar has once again triggered the debate on the rise of Khalistan militancy in Punjab. Preliminary investigations into Sunday’s attack which claimed three lives revealed that the ISI had stage managed this attack to create a wedge between the Sikhs and the Nirankaris.
An operative of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba who turned approver in a case has accused the National Investigation Agency of forcing him to confess. He had turned approver in a case of receiving funds from Pakistan and UAE-based LeT operatives to further terror activities in India.
The Lashkar-e-Tayiba which has faced heavy losses in Kashmir has decided to divide the state of Jammu and Kashmir into four divisions. Intelligence reports state that this is being done to gain control and also ensure that violence is staged from all four sides.
Two terrorists have been killed down in an encounter at Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists have been identified as Wasim Shah and Hafiz Nisar. The terrorists are suspected to be part of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba.
The Lashkar-e-Tayiba has called for strikes across the state of North East. In a video a Lashkar-e-Tayiba commander Amir Hamza is seen urging his men to wage a war in the north eastern states of Sikkim and Darjeeling.
The Lashkar-e-Tayiba has attributed Ghazwa-e-Hind to the Prophet. Ghazwa-e-Hind or holy war to capture India according of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba was the dream of the prophet. According to the Lashkar, the Prophet had said that the army would would rise from the west and seize India for Islam. These were the points that were made at a Lashkar conclave of commanders which was held in Islamabad on Sunday.
The highest level of security measures have been put in place ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra. With the Intelligence Bureau warning of a terror threat from the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, security is high. The security measures would also include a satellite tracking system.
The National Investigation Agency has sent a Letter Rogatory (LR) to Pakistan, seeking its response on seizures made following the Uri attack. On September 18 2016, terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba had attacked an Army camp and killed 19 soldiers. The NIA which has made little progress in the case has sent a formal request to Pakistan to cooperate with the probe.
In the past six months, terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir have looted a total of Rs 90.08 lakh from various banks. The terrorists have been resorting to bank robberies of late in a bid to fund their operations and the modus operandi was invented to beat demonetisation.
