Centre wants strict curbs to continue in these cities

lockdown-6New Delhi, May 18: The Centre has eased several restrictions while announcing the lockdown 4.0.

While the Centre has said that the states should decide on the zones, it also has advised that some cities need the restrictions to continue. Many states have said that they would follow the guidelines announced by the Centre. However some states have also said that the restrictions would continue like earlier as they are reporting a large number of cases.

Centre initiates action against officers overseeing movement of migrants in Delhi

migrant-exodusNew Delhi, Mar 30: The Centre has suspended two senior officers of the Delhi government for alleged dereliction of duty during the coronavirus lockdown. The Centre has also initiated disciplinary proceedings against the two other officers.

A Home Ministry source tells OneIndia that the action was taken due to the exodus of migrant workers in Delhi over the past few days. The suspended bureaucrats are Additional Chief Secretary (Transport), Renu Sharma and Principal Secretary (Finance) Rajeev Verma. Meanwhile disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyagopal and the SDM of Seelampur.

It has also been decided that Ladakh would be a Union Territory without legislature. Top Home Ministry sources tell OneIndia that Jammu and Kashmir would follow the Puducherry model, while functioning as a Union Territory. Before this announcement was made, only the National Capital Territory of Delhi and Puducherry had a legislature.

Why did you break your promise on deposit of old notes, SC asks centre

500The Supreme Court on Monday sought to know why the centre went back on its promise to extend the final date to deposit demonetised or old currency.

The centre had initially said that the last date to deposit the notes would be March 31, but it went back on its promise, a petition in the Supreme Court alleged. The court also sought to know why the centre should not allow people to deposit old notes till the end of March.
