Naxals arrested in UP tried to source AK-47s from Bihar

naxalsLucknow, Oct 17: The arrest of ten naxalites in Uttar Pradesh last week has confirmed the fears of security agencies that a major module was on the verge of being set up.
Investigations that have been conducted show that the naxalites were trying to set up a base in Uttar Pradesh with the help of criminal gangs. Attempts to set up a base in UP were being made since 2011. However, the naxalites were unable to do so as they were short of funds.

Terror plot? 2 Pakistanis among 5 arrested in Bihar

terPatna, Oct 11: Five persons including two Pakistani nationals were arrested by the National Investigation Agency from Bihar in connection with a terror plot.

SC asks Shahbuddin why his bail should not be cancelled

shahNew Delhi, Sept 19: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to stay an order of the Patna High Court which had granted bail to former RJD MP Shahbuddin accused in the murder of two brothers. The court issued notices to Shahbuddin returnable by Sept 26 while asking him to explain why his bail should not be cancelled.
The Bihar government on Monday sought before the court that his bail be cancelled. Appearing for the Bihar government counsel, Gopal Singh sought that the court issues a non bailable arrest warrant against him. Singh also termed Shahbuddin a ‘chronic history sheeter’.
