UAE based accused facilitated Kerala Gold Smuggling through import cargo addressed to consulate diplomats

New Delhi, June 10: The National Investigation Agency which made a crucial arrest in connection with the Kerala Gold Smuggling case said that the accused had facilitated the smuggling through import cargo addressed to diplomats in UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram. 

The NIA arrested fuugitive Muhammed Mansoor P D (37), a resident of Kozhikode, following his arrival at the Calicut International Airport from Dubai. The case on hand pertains to the seizure of 30 kilograms of gold worth Rs 14.82 crore on July 5 2020 at the Air Cargo of Trivandrum International

UAE to deploy Airbus 330 to provide mid-air fuelling for Indian Rafales

New Delhi, Mar 15: The UAE would deploy its Airbus 330 multi-role transport tankers later this month to provide mid-air fuelling to the Rafale jets. This would ensure that the fighters can fly non-stop to India.

The facility would be extended by UAE to the next batch of 8 Rafale jets that would be flagged off from France in April. This would mean that the second base of the Rafale fighters located in Bengal’s Hasimara would be activated in April.

Navy ships set out to Maldives, UAE for evacuation

navy-shipsNew Delhi, May 06: India has dispatched two navy ships to Maldives and two to UAE for evacuation of Indian citizens.

The Navy ships have been deployed as part of Operation Samudra Setu (Sea Bridge) to repatriate Indian citizens stranded abroad. Meanwhile, the first phase of the multi-agency operation called Vande Bharat Mission will see Air India operate 64 non-scheduled commercial flights from May 7 to 14 to bring back around 15,000 Indian nationals from 12 countries.

New Delhi, Apr 09: The interrogation of Nisar Ahmed Tantray, a Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist deported from the UAE suggests that the Lethpora CRPF camp attack case and the Pulwama strike are inter-linked. In the early part of April, Tantray a top JeM terrorist wanted in the Lethpora case was deported from the UAE to India. Post the attack in 2017, he had fled India for the UAE.
