New Delhi, May 17: Off late groups such as the Lashkar-e-Khalsa, the Freedom Fighter or the The Resistence Front have cropped up in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). These lesser known groups have been claiming credit for the recent attacks.
However the Intelligence agencies have learnt that these are deliberate tactics adopted by Rawalpindi to divert attention. An officer tells OneIndia that if one has noticed that groups such as the Lashkar-e-Tayiba or the Jaish-e-Mohammad have not claimed responsibility for any of the recent attacks in J&K.
‘Double, triple your security, be ready for target killing. You will die,’ the letter also reads.
New Delhi, May 16: In the wake of the targeted killings in Jammu and Kashmir a lesser known group called as the Lashkar-e-Islam has threatened the Kashmir pandits to leave the Union Territory.
In a letter addressed to the president of the migrant colony the group has asked all migrant and RSS agents to leave or face death. The letter also said that there is no space for Kashmiri Pandits who want another Israel in Kashmir to kill Kashmiri Muslims.
New Delhi, Apr 09: The National Investigation Agency conducted raids at 11 locations in Kashmir in connection with a case of The Resistence Front recruiting, motivating the youths of the Union Territory to carried out violent acts of Jihad.
The NIA raided 6 locations in district Srinagar, 2 in Baramulla, 1 in Awantipora, 1 in Budgam and 1 in Kulgam.
The case on hand relates to the activities of the The Resistence Front a frontal organisation of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. The NIA said that the self-styled commander of the outfit, Sajjad Gul has been radicalising and motivating the youth of J&K to undertake violent activities. He along with his handlers in Pakistan have been recruiting youth and conducting reconnaissance of pre-determined targets apart from coordinating and transporting weapons.
New Delhi, Dec 24: The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against three accused persons in connection with a case pertaining to the recovery of Improvised Explosive Devices in Jammu and Kashmir.
The chargesheet was filed against Nadeem Ul Haq, Nadeem Ayoub Rather and Talib Ur Rehman. On June 27 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir police had recovered IED near the Madrasa Markaz Ul Haroof at Bhatindi.
New Delhi, Oct 11: Following the killing of six civilians, the National Investigation Agency raided multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir. The agency has also arrested two terrorists of The Resistance Front, which had claimed responsibility for the killings.
The raids were conducted with the Jammu and Kashmir police and the CRPF officials at seven locations in Kulgam, Srinagar and Baramulla. The case was first registered following the recovery of an IED from a Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorist in Jammu. He had planned on indulging in acts of terror. The case was later taken over by the NIA and three operatives of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba were arrested.
New Delhi, Aug 24: The operation in which terrorist Abbas Sheikh the military commander of The Resistance Front (TRF) was gunned down was a massive success for the security forces.
Abbas was active in Jammu and Kashmir for nearly two decades and his killing is a major load of the security agencies. His list of crimes are never ending. Sheikh was previously associated with the Hizbul Mujahideen Mujahideen and later took over the TRF, which is a proxy of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba.
Officials tell OneIndia that he was one of the most respected among the terrorists and was seen as a spiritual leader. Due to this aspect he was able o recruit with ease as a result of which the TRF had become an extremely dangerous force. His killing is a big deal as it deals a blow not only to the capabilities of the TRF, but to the ideology of the outfit as well. Sheikh had in fact given the agencies the slip on six occasions after breaking the cordon during gunfights.
New Delhi, Jan 01: A Jammu and Kashmir based Punjabi jeweller was shot dead in Srinagar. He was based in J&K for the past four decades and was shot dead by motor-cycle borne terrorists in the city’s Sarai Bala locality.
The Pakistan backed terror group, The Resistance Front (TRF) while claiming responsibility for the killing said that the new domicile law was unacceptable and everyone other than indigenous Kashmiris would be treated as occupiers if they acquire property in J&K. More to come, the TRF also said in the statement that was circulated on the social media.
New Delhi, Dec 26: Based on reliable inputs regarding the movement of terrorists with automatic weapons in Narwal area heading towards Srinagar, a team of SOG Jammu laid a special check point at Narwal area.
When the SOG team was conducting vehicle checking in the area, one white colour Alto car bearing no. JK18A 9967 tried to escape.
New Delhi, Oct 31: The Jammu and Kashmir police have identified the terrorists behind the killing of a local BJP leader and two of his associates. The police say that the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and the Resistance Front were behind the killings. The police sad that the killers came in an Alto car and opened fire.
The terrorists then fled in the same vehicle. The vehicle has been seized near the Achabal area of Anantnag, Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Range), Vijay Kumar said.
New Delhi, July 10: The Resistance Front, a little known proxy of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba has claimed responsibility for the killing of BJP leader Sheikh Waseem Bari, his father and brother at Bandipore, Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, the TRF said that political stooges who ever sabotage Kashmir’s cause with their filthy designs to make and help occupational regime in brutalising Kashmir will be dealt with dire consequences.
