Possibility of strikes by JeM high says latest intelligence assessment

The input states that outfits such as the Jaish-e-Mohammad have been asked to step up attacks as the winter sets in at Jammu and Kashmir.

Additional forces moved to J&K to thwart big terror strikes: Sources

New Delhi, July 28: Amidst apprehensions after additional troops were to Jammu and Kashmir, top sources say that the decision was taken in view of inputs suggesting major terror strikes.

During a meeting of the National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval with security forces, he was informed about Pakistan launching major strikes in the Valley. A requisition was made for additional troops in view of the same, the source told OneIndia.

J&K: Pulwama terror attack was revenge strike by Jaish

kashmirsolThe Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the Pulwama attack at Jammu and Kashmir in which 8 security personnel were martyred. The group’s spokesperson Hasan Shah said that it was the Jaish which carried out the attack. Shah also detailed the entire operation to a local news agency in Pakistan. Intelligence Bureau officials tell OneIndia that they have managed to confirm that it was a Jaish led strike. It is being seen as a revenge strike, the IB officer also said.

Terror attack on army camp at Nagrota, J&K: Seven soldiers martyred

Airports to undergo security audit following threats of terror attack

bairNew Delhi, Aug 17: A team of the Intelligence Bureau, Bureau of Civil Aviation and Home Ministry officials have begun conducting a security audit of airports across the country. The move comes following various intelligence bureau reports suggesting that airports in the country are extremely vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
The recent attack at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul had given rise to concerns about security at airports. Intelligence Bureau reports regarding the vulnerability of the airports were also given following the attack at the Brussels Zaventem airport which claimed dozens of lives.

J&K: 3 security personnel killed in terror attack

jammu-and-kashmir8Srinagar, Aug 17: Three security personnel have been killed in a terrorist attack at Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir. The personnel included 2 soldiers and a police man. The incident occurred at the Baramulla district in J&K. Police officials say that terrorists had ambushed an army convoy at Khwajabagh in Baramulla at 2.30 AM on Wednesday.
In the attack two soldiers were killed. A police vehicle which was also present came under fire by the terrorists. One police personnel died in the attack.

Major terror attack in Assam foiled

assamNew Delhi, Aug 14: A major tragedy has been averted with the army foiling a bid by terrorists attempting to blow up the railway track in Assam.
The army recovered 7 kilograms of explosives placed on the track between Kokhrajar and Guwahati.  There have been a series of alerts that have been issues especially in the North Eastern states ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
Sources say that the 7 kilograms of explosives may have been planted by cadres of the KLO (Kamtapur Liberation Army. It would have been a major catastrophe had the explosives gone off.
