Ayodhya: SC says no to third party intervention, dismisses batch of petitions

The Supreme Court today said that the Ayodhya land dispute will not involve any third party. The order came while it rejected 32 intervening applications. Several persons including Aparna Sen, Anil Dharakar and Teesta Setalvad had filed applications to intervene in the dispute. They had sought to argue that the land at Ayodhya be used for secular use rather than religious use by adjudicating the dispute between Hindus and Muslims.

While concurring with the findings of the inquiry panel, Kumar added that a First Information Report under Sections 153A and 153B of the Indian Penal Code can be filed.

New Delhi, Dec 15: A probe has been ordered to ascertain if there was hacking of government software which led to the automatic renewal of licenses of NGOs run by Teesta Setalvad and Greenpeace India.

The Home Ministry had on Wednesday cancelled the renewal of the licenses under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) of three NGOs.

Teesta’s NGO used Rs 1.40 crore HRD donation for personal use- SC told

SC issues notice to Guj govt on de-freezing Teesta’s NGO accounts

teestaNew Delhi, Aug 17: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the Gujarat government on a plea filed by activist Teesta Setalvad challenging a decision in which accounts of her NGO were frozen. The Supreme Court directed the Gujarat government to file its reply while posting the matter to August 21.

During the course of the hearing, counsel for the Gujarat government sought two weeks time to file a reply. The matter will next be heard on August 21 as per the directive of the Supreme Court.
