terrorNew Delhi, Feb 27: Local recruitment and terror attacks have gone down considerably in Jammu and Kashmir. While this is an impressive development, the Indian Army has however flagged concerns on the rise in violations along the Line of Control.

With regard to the recruitment, sources tell OneIndia that in 2018 220 youth had joined terror outfits as opposed to the 120 in 2019. This is a remarkable dip and the figures will be much lower in 2020, the source also added.

Security restrictions around Jamia Masjid area in Srinagar lifted

jamia-masjidNew Delhi, Nov 23: Security restrictions from the Jamia Masjid area in Srinagar were lifted for the first time since the abrogation of Article 370. The Mosque, however, remained shut for the 16th Friday in a row since the announcement on Article 370 was made on August 5.0 Police officers said that there were no restrictions imposed in and around the Jamia Masjid on Friday.

The management was also asked to open the Mosque and hold prayers. The Mosque authorities, however, did not open the Mosque as Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was under house arrest. Farooq who heads the committee also delivers the sermon at the Mosque. The administration has however denied that Farooq is under house arrest at his Nigeen residence.

Doval in Srinagar: Analysing the situation before the big event on October 31

New Delhi, Sep 26: National Security Advisor (NSA), Ajit Doval took stock of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir during his visit. He arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday amidst several intelligence inputs suggesting that Pakistan is upping the ante and would look to carry out strikes in J&K.

There was an orange alert that was issued after the intelligence reported that 8 terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad would look to strike at an airbase. Further, the Punjab Police found that drones from Pakistan had dropped off arms and ammunition at the border. It was also found that the arms were to be smuggled into J&K.

High alert sounded after terrorists tell offices in Srinagar to turn off CCTV cameras

Following the alert, search operations have been intensified in Srinagar. The security forces were told that a batch of terrorists may have sneaked into Srinagar and are trying to carry out a big strike.

Hurriyat Terror Funding: NIA raids 11 locations in Srinagar, 5 at Delhi
