New Delhi, June 24: At the much awaited meeting with the leaders of the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to seek cooperation on the delimitation process.
The main agenda would be to discuss ways to go through the delimitation process and hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir, sources tell OneIndia. While the leaders from J&K will demand for the restoration of statehood, the PM is expected to tell them that this is in the pipeline, but the immediate attention should on the conduct of the elections.
New Delhi, June 24: While leaders from Jammu and Kashmir may press for statehood and restoration of Article 370, the Centre during the all party meet today would focus on furthering the political process in the state.
Sources tell OneIndia that the agenda does not include statehood and Article 370. Instead the progress made in the various fields in the Union Territory post the abrogation of Article 370 would be placed at the meeting.
New Delhi, June 22: All parties part of the 6 party grouping in Jammu and Kashmir called the Gupkar Alliance are likely to attend the all party meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24.
The alliance would meet today to device a joint strategy during the meet for which 14 leaders including former chief ministers and deputy chief ministers have been invited. Sources however informed that the grouping is likely to stick to their demand for restoration of statehood.
