Two police personnel have lost their lives in a pre-dawn terror strike at Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place at Pulwama.
The Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the Pulwama attack at Jammu and Kashmir in which 8 security personnel were martyred. The group’s spokesperson Hasan Shah said that it was the Jaish which carried out the attack. Shah also detailed the entire operation to a local news agency in Pakistan. Intelligence Bureau officials tell OneIndia that they have managed to confirm that it was a Jaish led strike. It is being seen as a revenge strike, the IB officer also said.
Three security personnel have been martyred in a terror attack at Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Saturday morning. Terrorists struck early Saturday morning at the District Police Lines in the wee hours of Saturday.
A massive cordon and search operation has been launched in Pulwama’s Pinglena village by the security forces. The operation was launched in the Kashmir Valley following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists.
Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam have been problematic for the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir to deal with. The most number of local terrorists who are tech savvy too have been joining the Hizbul MUjahideen from these areas.
There seems to be no respite in sight in Jammu and Kashmir. After Srinagar recorded its worst turnout of 6 per cent in the Lok Sabha by-elections on Sunday, violence broke out in Pulwama. A polling booth at the Government High School in Arihal, Pulwama was set blaze ahead of the by-poll for the Anantnag parliamentary seat.
Terrorists fled from the spot following a brief encounter that took place at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, on early Friday morning. The encounter broke out on Friday after terrorists opened fire at the security forces.
Security forces are still engaging the second terrorist as a gun battle rages on.
