Nun’s rape was not a hate crime says alleged mastermind

nazrulThe prime accused in the nun rape case has confirmed to the West Bengal Criminal Investigating Department or the CID that the incident was not a hate crime.
I was drunk and drugged as a result of which I assaulted the nun who tried to stop me from robbing the convent, the alleged mastermind of the attack, Nazrul Islam has told the investigation agency.

Nazrul Islam was arrested yesterday by the CID, West Bengal from the Platform Number 5 of the Sealdah railway station in Kolkata. He is the sixth person to be arrested in the case and the CID is still on the look out for two more accused.

West Bengal nun rape case: Mastermind arrested, two more to go

nun-rapedNazrul Islam alias Nojul the mastermind in the nun rape case was arrested by the West Bengal CID. His arrest is a major development as he along with Rehman were the two who masterminded this attack which was aimed at robbing the convent.

Nazrul was picked up from the Sealdah Railway station. A state intelligence bureau official tipped off the CID about his presence at the Platform Number 5. The CID immediately pressed its officers into action and arrested him.

Nun rape case: Mastermind Rehman arrested

Nun gangrape case: Breakthrough as 4 Bangladeshis arrested

nun-rapedThe Punjab police have picked up four Bangladeshi nationals in connection with the nun rape case. Four persons were picked up in Ludhiana after they had allegedly fled from West Bengal after the incident.
The Punjab police while acting on the inputs received from various quarters picked up the four men. They are now being questioned for further leads. A team of the West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department will now seek custody of the four persons. Read more

The investigations into the nun rape case have revealed that the intent was dacoity and rape was a result of resistance. The CID which will continue to probe the case in the wake of the Union Government rejecting the probe says that while it has been found that the rape was not a pre-planned one, they also point out that this is not a conclusion they have drawn since there are discrepancies in the statements of the accused.

Nun gangrape case: Ghar wapsi statement goes missing on Trinamool Congress site

West Bengal Nun Gangrape case: Second accused arrested in Kolkata

rapecase The CID has arrested another person in connection with the nun rape case. This is the second arrest to be carried out today. Earlier in the day a person by the name Salim had been picked up from Mumbai.
