Stats don’t lie: How NIA under Modi sarkar aced the terror funding probes

New Delhi, Apr 28: At an event earlier this month, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah said that the National Investigation Agency at 93.25 per cent has the highest conviction rate among all the probe agencies in the country.

Shah while speaking at the 13th NIA Raising Day said that in a short span of 13 years, the agency registered over 400 cases, filed chargesheets in 349, arrested 2,494 accused and convicted 391 accused persons.

Furthermore, surrenders of Naxals because of disgruntlement with ideology has brought about a decline in the Naxal movement

In the past four days there were two very important developments where the fight against Naxalites was concerned.

The first was the arrest of Lalita Devi, the wife of Chhotu Kerwar, a regional commander of the CPI (Maoist) from the Balumath area in Jharkhand. The second was the filing of a chargesheet against 11 persons part of the proscribed Peoples’ Liberation Front of India (PLFI).

Ajit Doval back as NSA clearly indicates national security supreme for Modi

New Delhi, June 03: Ajit Doval will continue to serve as India’s National Security Advisor for the next five years. He was also given a Cabinet rank by the government in recognition of his contribution to national security.

Doval had largely shaped India’s national security policy in the past five years. One of the key areas of focus was Kashmir, where one got to witness his famous doctrine in force.

Full list of portfolios: Shah gets home, Rajnath Defence, Jaishankar, MEA, Nirmala Finance

New Delhi, May 31: The full list of portfolios have been releaased. Some were on expected lines and there were some surprises as well. In the new Narendra Modi cabinet, Amit Shah has been made the Home Minister, while Rajnath Singh has been given the Defence portfolio.

Former foriegn secretary, S Jaishankar has been made the Minister for External Affairs, while the important finance portfolio has been handed over to Nirmala Sitharaman, who earlier held defence.
