New Delhi, Mar 24: The new ministers in both Uttarakhand and Manipur have no criminal cases against them. In Uttarakhand and Manipur the 15 ministers put together do not have pending criminal cases against them, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms.
Out of the 9 ministers analysed, all 9 (100%) are crorepatis in Uttarakhand. The average assets of 9 ministers analysed is Rs 16.00 crores.
The minister with the highest declared total assets is Satpal Maharaj from Chaubattakhal constituency with assets worth Rs. 87.34 crores.
New Delhi, Jan 15: The National Investigation Agency conducted searches in Manipur and Nagaland in connection with a terror funding case.
The case relates to a terror funding case relating to the NSCN (IM) wherein unaccounted funds were being taken by one Alemla Jamir from Delhi to Nagaland. Jamir is said to be working for the NSCN (IM) and was arrested while carrying cash to the tune of Rs 72 lakh.
New Delhi, Dec 11: In the midst of the debate on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill the Ministry of Affairs has extended the Inner Line Permit to the North Eastern States including Manipur.
The CAB has a clause with regard to the Inner Line Permit Regime Areas. The Bill states that the Inner Line Permit (ILP) regime areas and those regions that are governed under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution are excluded from the purview of this Bill.
New Delhi, Dec 09: The Union Government has worked out alternate measures to address the concerns of the people of Manipur ahead of the tabling of the crucial Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah would announce these measures while he tables this Bill in the Lok Sabha today. The announcement would be on the extra and exit permit system and also a provision on the Inner Line Permit.
Imphal, Oct 6: The National Investigation Agency has submitted its first chargesheet in connection with the missing arms case reported in Manipur. The NIA has charged 8 persons in connection with the case.
New Delhi, Sep 1: The National Investigation Agency has seized Rs 48 lakh in connection with a terror funding case being probed in Manipur. The amount was seized from one Promodhini, an employee of RIMS, Imphal.
New Delhi, Aug 26: The National Investigation Agency has learnt while probing the missing arms case that the chairman of the Kuki Revolutionary Army had received the police pistols from Congress MLA, Yamthung Haokip.
New Delhi, Aug 24: The National Investigation Agency carried out a major arrest in connection with the missing arms case reported at Manipur. A Congress MA Yamthung Haokip was arrested and it may be recalled that the agency had conducted a raid at his home last month, which led to some major seizures.
