Russia has completely backed India’s decision to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, officials familiar with the development tell OneIndia.
New Delhi, Aug 17: India remained unfazed and navigated moves by Pakistan to internationalise the Kashmir issue. India continued to maintain that the constitutional changes that were made in Jammu and Kashmir were internal to India.
The UN security council members rejected Pakistan’s demand for a formal meeting and also did not adopt an informal statement.
New Delhi, Aug 13: Speaking out for the first time since the abrogation of Article 370, Poland has made it clear that a solution to the Kashmir issue should be found bi-laterally. Poland currently holds the UNSC presidency.
The statement by Poland comes a few days after Russia, a permanent member of the UNSC made it clear that the move by India was carried out within the framework of the Constitution of the Republic of India.
