Release 2,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to TN, SC tells Karnataka

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered Karnataka to continue releasing 2,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu on a daily basis. The court also posted the matter for final hearing on July 11.

Karnataka would have to continue releasing water to TN until the SC hears the matter next, a Division Bench headed by Justice Dipak Mishra said.

Jaya appeal: The drama, before the decision was taken

Jaya case- Karnataka to appeal in Supreme Court this week

jaya2The Karnataka cabinet has finally decided to file an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the acquittal of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
A decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting that was held at Vidhan Soudha, Bengaluru this morning.
The cabinet also decided that the appeal would be filed this week.

The law department has been directed to draft the appeal and file it before the Supreme Court this week itself.
