New Delhi, Mar 17: Former chief justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi was nominated to the Rajya Sabha. The issue has been heavily debated since and both Congress and the BJP have traded charges at each other.
Justice Gogoi’s name was proposed after the term of K T S Tulsi came to an end in February.
New Delhi, Mar 17: A controversy has erupted after former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi was nominated to the Rajya Sabha.
The Opposition has asked if this is quid pro quo. Justice Gogoi presided over important matters such as Rafale and the Ayodhya case. However Justice Gogoi is not the first former CJI to make it to the Rajya Sabha.
New Delhi, Oct 29: Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi has a hectic last few days in office. The CJI will have to deliver three very crucial verdicts before he retires on November 17.
Apart from the crucial Ayodhya case, Justice Gogoi would have to pronounce orders in the Sabarimala and Rafale case as well.

He takes over from Justice Dipak Misra who retired on October 2 after passing a string of verdicts that included the constitutional validity of Aadhaar, adultery law, the Sabarimala Temple issue among others.
