New Delhi, Jan 16: The Jammu and Kashmir police who arrested Deputy Superintendent of Police Davinder Singh will question the officer for his alleged links with Afzal Guru. He would be questioned for his links with Afzal Guru, Kumar said.
He also said that another person, a lawyer by profession had also been caught. In the year 2004, Afzal Guru, who was lodged in the Tihar jail had written a letter to his lawyer.
In the letter he had said that Singh then posted with the J&K Police’s Special Operations Group had asked him to take Mohammad, a Pakistani national identified as one of those who carried out the Parliament attack to Delhi, rent a flat and purchase a car for him.
New Delhi, Jan 14: The decorated police officer Davinder Singh, who has been arrested on terror charges had left the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists stay at his home before leaving for Jammu.
Singh is alleged to have brought Naveed Babu, Mir Irfan and Rafi Rather from Shopian to Srinagar on Friday evening. On Saturday, they set out to Jammu, from where they were planning on going to New Delhi.
However before he could leave, the police arrested him sources familiar with the developments confirmed to OneIndia.
New Delhi, Jan 13: The Jammu and Kashmir police who detained a Deputy Superintendent of Police will question the officer for his alleged links with Afzal Guru. Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar while confirming the arrest of Davinder Singh said that the officer would be treated like any other terrorist.
He would be questioned for his links with Afzal Guru, Kumar said. He also said that another person, a lawyer by profession had also bee caught. Singh on the other hand is a decorated police officer who had served in the Special Operations Group and had earned a President’s medal.
New Delhi, Nov 19: The newly recruited policemen in Jammu and Kashmir took oath under the Constitution of India. This is for the first time that this has happened in history and this was facilitated by the decision to abrogate Article 370. Prior to the abrogation, Jammu and Kashmir had its own Constitution. Following the August 5 decision this has been abolished.
New Delhi, Aug 06: The Centre on Monday made an important announcement, while scrapping Article 370 today. It decided to make Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory with legislature.
It has also been decided that Ladakh would be a Union Territory without legislature. Top Home Ministry sources tell OneIndia that Jammu and Kashmir would follow the Puducherry model, while functioning as a Union Territory. Before this announcement was made, only the National Capital Territory of Delhi and Puducherry had a legislature.
Jammu, Jan 18:In view of threat of terrorist attack during the forthcoming Republic Day, Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued advisory to officers, asking them to remain vigil round-the-clock as several new check-points have been set up for frisking of people here.
