In its chargesheet the National Investigation Agency has said that an Islamic State module from Kanakamala in Kannur had conspired and conducted preparations to target prominent persons including Judges of High Court, political leaders and senior police officers.
He pretended to be a handler and drew them into a conversation. This senior police officer from Telangana told a group of men that he was contacting them from Syria and wanted the module of the Islamic State to thrive in India.
It was the specific inputs that were provided by the Telangana police that led to the busting of a module from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Saifullah was killed following an 11 hour encounter with the Uttar Pradesh ATS at Thakurganj near Lucknow.
