The diplomatic spat between India and Pakistan has hit a new low. This time it is pertaining to harassment of diplomats and their families, with both sides lodging protests on the matter.
External Affairs Minister S M Krishna said at Bangalore today that it is unfortunate that Pakistan has not felt the need to throughly investigate the role of Hafiz Saeed in the 26/11 attack. India has time again spoken about the role played by Saeed in the attack.
We have repeatedly sent dossiers about Saeed to Pakistan. The dossiers have detailed his role in the attack. No amount of denial from Pakistan can nullify the role Saeed had played in the attack. However it is sad that Pakistan has not bothered to investigate him properly.
I cannot say whether the Indian Prime Minister would discuss this matter with Asif Ali Zardari when he visits India. After all it is a private visit and I don’t think they would have the time to go into this.
On the Indo-Pak relations, Krishna said that there is a changed mind set since the past three years. Hina Rabbani told me this and we saw that when she came to India. I believe what she has said and the ties are looking up.
