Be extra vigilant against drones: MHA to agencies ahead of Independence Day

New Delhi, July 26: With Independence Day approaching, the Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed the security agencies to be extra vigilant about any flying objects. The MHA has also advised the agencies to shoot down such objects if they try and go near sensitive areas. 

The Intelligence Bureau has also sounded an alert ahead of Independence Day and said that terror groups would look to strike in the national capital. Groups such as the Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Khalistan groups would look to carry out terror strikes in Delhi, an IB official told OneIndia.

With terror threat looming large, Delhi Police bars UAVs, paragliders until Independence Day

New Delhi, July 16: The Delhi Police has issued an order prohibiting flying of parameters, UAV, hot air balloons and paragliders in the national capital until Independence Day.

The order comes into force today and will be in place until August 16. Offenders will be booked under IPC Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).

Invite COVID-19 warriors, avoid crowds, MHA to states in Independence Day advisory

crowds2New Delhi, July 24: The Union Home Ministry has issued guidelines to all States and Union Territories ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.

In its advisory, the MHA has directed States and UTs to avoid large congregations owing to the pandemic. The MHA also suggested that coronavirus warriors such as doctors be invited for the events in the respective States and UTs.

Don’t force Kashmir girls to participate in Independence Day, says Zakir Musa

zakir_musaIn a fresh warning, Zakir Musa, has warned institutions in Kashmir against forcing girls from taking part in Independence Day celebrations. Musa who had broken away from the Hizbul Mujahideen to form an outfit affiliated to the al-Qaeda said a principle of an educational institution was “forcing” girls to participate in the parade on August 15 celebrations on India’s Independence Day at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar.
