New Delhi, Jan 9: The Government has moved the Delhi High court seeking a permanent injunction to restrain AgustaWestland from continuing with the arbitration process in view of the ongoing criminal cases before the trial court.
The decision of the Governor to appoint a nominated MLA to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly has been challenged. The Governor had appointed an Anglo-Indian MLA to the assembly after B S Yeddyurappa was sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Honeypreet Insan has claimed that the drug mafia is after her. He says that she is under threat from drug syndicates in Haryana and Punjab. The submission was made in her anticipatory bail plea which was reserved for orders by the Delhi High Court.

The Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow Bench has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to commission new licences and renew old ones for slaughterhouses. the directive came while hearing a petition seeking grant or renewal of licences to slaughterhouses and meat shops in Uttar Pradesh.

The Bench was dealing with a petition filed by one Asa Mohammad who had sought criminal action against singer, Sonu Nigam who had tweeted against Azaan being played out on loudspeakers. Nigam had created a furore on the social media when he said he was unable to sleep because of this.
The Delhi high court has rejected a petition filed by Yogendra Yadav challenging the Delhi state election commission’s decision not to allot a common symbol to Swaraj India. Yadav had challenged the decision not allot his party Swaraj India a common symbol to contest the upcoming municipal elections in Delhi. The MCD elections will be held on April 23.
The petition was filed after Border Security Force constable Tej Bahadur Yadav posted a video in which he was seen complaining about poor food being served to jawans. The court also issued notices to the home ministry while seeking a detailed response on the matter.
