A Bengal bomber and his southern sojourn: How NIA prevented an imminent terror attack

New Delhi, July 10: Five fabricated hand grenades, one timer device, three electric circuits, suspected explosive substance, different components for making IEDs/rockets were recovered by the National Investigation Agency, following a confession of a Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh operative, who was arrested in Bengaluru recently.

The recovery comes following the confession of the JMB operative, Habibur Rehman, who is also an accused in Burdwan blast case. The NIA said that these weapons were to be used in various terror acts in different parts of the state.

JMB terrorist arrested from Bengaluru had a free run for four years

img_0048New Delhi, June 29: After a chase that lasted nearly five years, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), earlier this week arrested an accused in connection with the Burdwan blast from Doddaballapur near Bengaluru.

The arrested person was identified as Habibur Rehman, who is a close aide of Jahidul Islam arrested by the NIA last year from Ramanagara near Bengaluru. The sleuths of the NIA are currently questioning Rehman and during the interrogation it came to light that he had travelled to several places across the country.

Hours after arrest of key JMB terrorist, live bombs found near Bengaluru

Bengaluru, June 26: Hours after a key operative of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh was arrested in Karnataka, the police have recovered live bombs from Ramnagara, 50 kilometres from here.

The police and the dog squad are at the spot and investigations are on. The NIA had got information regarding these bombs from Habibur Rehman, who was arrested from Doddaballapur near here on Tuesday.
