Delhi elections on February 8, counting on Feb 11

delhi-assembly-pollsNew Delhi, Jan 06: The Delhi assembly elections would be held on February 8 and counting will take place on February 11, the Election Commission of India has said.

Notification will be issued on January 14 and the last date of nomination is January 21. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on January 22 and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is January 24.

EC meeting on delimitation in J&K, a process stalled by Abdullah in 2002

New Delhi, Aug 13: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is meeting to discuss the delimitation of assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

This is the first meeting of the Election Commission to discuss the delimitation of Vidhan Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

Polling percentage in 1st phase of LS polls better than 2014

New Delhi, Apr 13: The voter turn out in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 was recorded at 69.43 per cent, the Election Commission said.

A total of 91 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 18 states and two Union territories had gone for polls in the first phase.

To monitor elections, Election Commission brings in drones for first time

voting-11New Delhi, Apr 11: For the first time the Election Commission (EC) of India is using drones to monitor the elections. Voting in the first phase of the polls commenced today.

At least 13 drones are being used in the Gautam Buddh Nagar constituency and the same was introduced to monitor any unwanted activities on the ground. The drones have been deployed in the various districts that falls under this constituency.
