The Supreme Court will verify the validity of the trust vote by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, E Palanisamy. The court decided to take up the matter after a petition was filed in which the validity of the trust vote was questioned.
He has complained that the trust vote was not favour as the entire opposition was evicted from the floor of the house. He has also complained that the request for a secret ballot was rejected.
The speaker had ordered a division of votes after rejecting demands for a secret ballot. All MLAs backing EPS voted in his favour.
A special session the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly will be held on Saturday.
He is likely to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state on Thursday at 5pm, following which he will have to prove his majority on the floor of the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly.
