With fakes flooding the market, how to tell if new Rs 500 or 2,000 note is real?

realBengaluru, Dec 21: In the past month at least three major incidents of the Rs 2,000 notes being fake have come to light. On Tuesday the Bengaluru police arrested four persons for circulating photocopied Rs 2,000 notes.

A similar incident was reported in Amritsar, Punjab where Rs 3.20 lakh in fake currency was recovered. Incidents similar to these were reported from Odisha as well.

Jayalalithaa’s health: Madras HC rejects plea, terms it publicity petition

img_0770Chennai, Oct 6: The Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition which sought details on the the health of Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalithaa. The court termed the petition as a publicity stunt while rejecting the same. The petition was heard by a division Bench comprising Chief Justice S K Kaul and Justice R Mahadevan.
The Bench also warned the petitioner not to use the judiciary as a forum for political purposes. On Tuesday, the petitioner had made a mention before a Division Bench comprising Justices M M Sundresh and R Mahadevan.

Kashmir protests: Rajnath to visit Valley to find a way forward

New Delhi, July 23: In a bid to douse the fire in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh will begin his two day visit to the state starting on Saturday. Home Ministry officials say that his will be a packed schedule and the minister would be meeting with various representatives in a bid to find a solution to the ongoing problem.
