New Delhi, Sep 02: A Special NIA court which convicted 19 persons in connection with the Burdwan blasts case has pronounced the quantum of punishment.
The maximum punishment awarded by the court was 10 years rigorous imprisonment, while the minimum was upto 6 years. Of the 19 who were convicted, 4 were Bangladeshi nationals.

On October 2 2014, a powerful bomb blast took place on the first floor of the rented house in the busy Khagragarh locality of Burdwan District of West Bengal. The IED had accidentally gone off at the time of its making by the members of banned terrorist organiation Jamat-ul-Mujaheedin of Bangladesh(JMB).
Kolkata, June 26: An absconding accused in the Burdwan blast case has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The accused, Habibur Rehman was arrested from Bengaluru by the NIA.
New Delhi, Jan 29: The National Investigation Agency has arrested one more person in connection with the Burdwan blast case.
