naiduNew Delhi, Apr 10: The richest candidate contesting the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections is Krishnaiah Bollineni and he is worth Rs 689 crore.

Contesting on a TDP ticket from Atmakur, Bollineni has declared movable assets to the tune of Rs 6,56,25,68,895 and immovable property worth Rs 33,42,04,443. His total assets are worth Rs 6,89,67,73,338 says a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms.

In poll bound Andhra, a copy cat syndrome by politicians plays out

16 percent of MPs are actors, filmakers, singers

New Delhi, Mar 30: The average annual self-income of 479 sitting MPs is Rs.30.29 Lakhs.

A report prepared by the Association for Democratic Reforms states that the MPs from Andhra Pradesh have the highest average annual self-income of Rs. 105.9 Lakhs, followed by Odisha’s 15 MPs analysed with average annual self-income of Rs. 68.8 Lakhs.

Hirakhand Express mishap: Rusted track or sabotage?

hiraNew Delhi, Jan 23: Following the derailment of the Hirakhand Express at Andhra Pradesh on Saturday which claimed 39 lives, the railways claimed that it could have been a case of sabotage. Preliminary investigations showed that there was a breakage of the tongue rail near the Kuneru railway station which could have led to the accident.

A 15-inch gap in the rail line may have been the reason for the accident. Moreover, while joining the dots, the investigators are also looking into a ‘Naxal angle’ since the station is located in a Naxalite strong region.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s properties attached so far- Rs 2,524 crore and counting

New Delhi, June 30: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached more property belonging to Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief of the YSR Congress party and son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajashekara Reddy on Wednesday. This is the second such exercise that the ED has carried out.

With this attachment, the total worth of property attached by the ED is Rs 2.524 crore. The first attachment which was carried out was worth Rs 1,775 crore while yesterday’s exercise involved property worth Rs 749 crore.

ISI’s Sri Lanka module waiting to strike in Andhra Pradesh: Intelligence Bureau

terHyderabad, June 2:Visakapatnam in Andhra Pradesh has become a potential target for terrorist groups. There has been a general alert in Visakapatnam in Andhra Pradesh following chatter being picked up by the intelligence bureau suggesting Lashkar-e-Tayiba operatives would be launched from Sri Lanka to strike.

The matter had come up for discussion during the law and order review meeting that AP chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu held with top police officials. Naidu was told that vital installations in Visakapatnam are high on the radar of terrorist groups.
