With China playing foul, why India is looking for new business rules

New Delhi, Oct 08: India will opt for partnerships in the development of technologies such as 5G and 5G plus through government to government partnerships rather than go for off the shelf purchases in future.

India will take part through the entire development process so that it has the option to go for a different partner in case of any technology denial, officials tell OneIndia. This is an important move in the wake of China disregarding every bi-lateral agreement along the Line of Actual Control.

New Delhi, Sep 26: India and Japan will join hands in technical development of 5G and 5G plus technologies. This would be done with the help of other QUAD strategic members-US, Australia and Israel. The discussion of the QUAD foreign ministers will in Japan next month.

India and Japan have decided to pitch for 5G and plus technologies. India will also eye the 3GPP, umbrella mobile telecommunications standard organisation to accept the first Indian rural standard for telecommunication. This would be important as most of the 3GPP standards have been set by the Chinese telecommunication development companies.
