Drugs from Pakistan smuggled into India under garb of importing rock salt granules

New Delhi, Oct 21: The National Investigation Agency in its chargesheet filed in the narco terror case has said that the accused persons received at least six consignments of heroin through the Attari Indo-Pakistan border. 

The NIA said that the consignments were received under the garb of importing rock salt granules from Pakistan. Of these, money proceeds of five consignments were partly sent back to Pakistan through hawala operators, the NIA also said. A substantial portion was also channelised to the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in Kashmir through a network of Over Ground Workers. In July 2019, a 6th consignment of around 532 kilograms of heron was seized at the Attari border and a separate case was registered.

After the Mumbai exposure, NCB sets its eye on drug trouble in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 16: After Mumbai, Delhi will be on the radar of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Recent raids and the investigations by the NCB have shown that in a majority of the cases, the drugs have been Mumbai borne.

The drug angle has been probed extensively, following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Several top actors have been summoned by the NCB for questioning and the agency netted at least 20 people in connection with this case.

All you need to know about the NDPS Act and how it is playing out in the Bollywood drug case

New Delhi, Sep 26: The Bollywood drug case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput is the talk of the town. With big personalities from the industry being summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), it would be a good idea to take a look at the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) of 1985.

No person shall cultivate any coca plant or gather any portion of coca plant; cultivate the opium poppy or any cannabis plant or produce, manufacture, possess, sell, purchase, transport, warehouse, use, consume, import inter-State, export inter-State, import into India, export from India or tranship any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance, except for medical or scientific purposes and in the manner and to the extent provided by the provisions of this Act. Any person found violating these measures can be charged under the NDPS Act, Section 8 (c) says.

NIA likely to become 4th federal agency to join Sushant Singh death probe

New Delhi, Sep 23: With the ambit of the probe into the death of actor, Sushant Singh Rajput expanding and national security issues emerging, the National Investigation Agency is likely to join the investigation. 

A notification has been issued stating that the Centre after consulting with the states invests the official es of and above the rank of the inspectors in the NIA to exercise the powers and perform duties according to section 53 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985.

New Delhi, Sep 22: Several A-listers from Bollywood have come under the scanner of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is investigating the drug angle in film actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. 

The NCB has sought the help of agencies from various countries to find out more about the drug flow into India and particularly Mumbai. Sources tell OneIndia that apart from gathering evidence on those who consume hard drugs such as methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine, it is also important to unearth the supply chain.

NIA files chargesheet in narco-smugglers case involving Pakistanis

drugs1New Delhi, Aug 08: The National Investigation Agency has filed a charges in connection with the seizure of narcotic at Salaya, Gujarat. Charges were filed against 8 persons.

The case relates to the seizure of 4.949 kilograms of heroin worth Rs 15 crore from the possession of arrested accused Aziz Abdul Bhagdad.

Cops bust Lashkar’s narco module in Jammu and Kashmir

Notorious narco terrorist arrested by NIA

NIA-33New Delhi, May 10: A notorious narco terrorist has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency.

Ranjit Singh along with co-accused Iqbal Singh Shera are the prime accused in case registered by NIA in connection with the seizure of 532 kgs of heroin hidden in a consignment of rock salt imported from Pakistan. The seizure was made by the Custom Authorities at ICP Attari on 29.06.2019 when contraband was discovered during inspection of the consignment.
