New Delhi, Aug 05: It has been three years since the Indian Government abrogated Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. On this day in 2019, the government also announced that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh would be two separate Union Territories.
It was not an easy call for the government to take considering the tensions in the Valley. In addition to the security measures that were taken, the government also had to ensure that none got wind of the decision. When it was finally announced, it came as a surprise to all and even Pakistan did not have a wind of what had transpired in the background.
