Not interested says Yeddy

Despite efforts being made to bring by B S Yeddyurappa to the Bharatiya Janata Party, the former Chief Minister has made it clear that he is not interested. There is no question of me going back to the BJP, B S Yeddyurappa told the media in Bangalore.

To a question if he would return to the BJP, now that Narendra Modi is in control, Yeddyurappa said, “I respect Narendra Modi a lot. However I have a separate identity of my own and would like to maintain that.”

If the central leaders want to meet with me regarding me getting back to the BJP, then I will see at that time, but for now there is no question of me going back. I understand that the BJP is looking to strengthen the party. But I have my own party, the Karnataka Janatha Party. I will work for my party, Yeddyurappa also said.

The Karnataka state BJP which was drubbed in the recent elections has been doing some soul searching. Several leaders feel that the absence of Yeddyurappa led to their defeat and it was in the best interest of the party to get him back to the BJP.

  1. Wonder who the think tank is behind this pursuit of wanting Yeddy, a man who ditched party eithics for personal greed and power? It is utmost ridiculous for BJP to want this man back. Have they conceded to the fact that their own ideology will not suffice to bring in those seats they have lost to both Yeddy and Sriramalu. Work for it and loose, if need be, rather than woo such unethical and immoral practitioners of political ethics. It could back fire too.

  2. Some one should take a huge bet with him that he’ll either end up inside BJP or will be in a tie up with BJP, because Congress doesn’t need him, JD(S)/BSRC are not relevant to him, and on his own he is zero.

The crazy thing is why would BJP want him inside? Perhaps they think – “better to have the camel inside the tent pissing out side the tent, rather than have it outside pissing in to the tent”
